Philip Glenister

Biography

35-40s - Warm, reassuring voice or characterful. Philip's credits are long and strong;The Stepfather, The Walk, Island At War, Hornblower, The Vice, and Vincent (alongside Ray Winstone), all for ITV, and Byron, State of Play, and three series of Clocking Off for BBC1 - not forgetting his fantastic performance as photographer, Lawrence Sertain, in the feature film Calendar Girls. Now known to millions as DCI Gene Hunt from the hit BBC series Life on Mars and its spin-off Ashes to Ashes. Philip also recently starred in Cranford for BBC1 and can be seen soon as Rupert Galvin in the new series, Demons, for ITV1. Along with all of the above, Philip has written a book, Things Ain't What They Used to Be, which takes the reader on a journey through the 70s and 80s, comparing them to how we live now.
